Cialis - Relieves Swollen Prostates

New research published in The Journal of Urology claims that men who take the ED Med Cialis on a daily basis can relieve the symptoms of a swollen prostate and therefore suffer less from the Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms described above

Cialis or tadalafil to give it its medical name is the second most used erectile dysfunction medication in the world after Viagra and is primarily prescribed to help men who suffer from blood flow problems to the penile area, however this new research shows that it has possible applications to help men with the associated symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.

A great deal of men over the age of 50 begin to suffer from a condition called Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia which put in simpler terms is an enlarged and swollen prostate gland.

This condition causes problems with urination such as a very frequent need to visit the bathroom, being unable to completely empty the bladder and a very weak discharge of urine.

Obviously this condition is extremely uncomfortable and causes men a great deal of distress. It is known in medical circles as Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms or LUTS.

The research involved over 1,000 men in ten different countries and was initiated by the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Centre in Dallas, the Northwestern University and also in conjunction with Lilly Research Laboratories.

In line with correct medical practice the research was done on a double blind, randomised, placebo controlled format to ensure the validity and accuracy of the results.

Some reports say that as many as 50% of men who are 50+ suffer from some sort of urinary problem and therefore the potential market for Cialis to be prescribed in a small those for these men is huge.
