Cialis - Testosterone Gel Therapy

A treatment for erectile dysfunction called testosterone gel therapy has been shown to give significant results when used in conjunction with the medications Cialis

The research announced at the 24th Annual European Association of Urology Congress confirms that in some cases testosterone gel therapy can enhance the effect of the group of drugs known as PDE-5 inhibitors.  (Viagra, Cialis and Levitra).

In this research project researchers noted however that not all men responded to the testosterone gel therapy along with Cialis.

Only men who had testosterone levels of lower than 3 ng/mL or bioavailable testosterone levels lower than 0.6 ng/mL responded well to the double treatment.

The lead researcher doctor Jacques Buvat from the Centre d'Etude et de Traitement de la Pathologie de l'Appareil Reproducteur et de la Psychosomatique spoke about his research project entitled 'Testosterone With PDE5 Inhibitors in ED Patient Non-Responders to PDE-5 Inhibitors [Tadalafil] Alone' at the conference.

Dr. Buvat explained that one of the reasons why some men did not respond to phosphodiesterase type 5, [PDE-5] inhibitors was often suspected to be because of their low levels of testosterone and this research was designed to see whether the function of PDE-5 inhibitors was dependent on sufficient levels of testosterone.

The research which was done using a multi location, randomised, double blind, and placebo controlled format looked at men who ranged in age from 45 to 80 years all of whom did not respond to the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis or Levitra.

Testosterone levels in all of the men were measured and men whose testosterone was over 4 ng/mL, and whose bioavailable testosterone levels were over 1 ng/mL were excluded from the trial.

Using the standard method of quantifying erectile function, the International Index of Erectile Function it was seen that Cialis began to work in men whose testosterone levels were boosted with the use of testosterone gel therapy.

This research confirms that testosterone levels can play a part in having good erectile function and if the erectile dysfunction drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra do not work for you possibly you should consider going to a doctor and having a full medical check up including a test to determine the amount of testosterone in your blood.
