Erectile Dysfunction - Smoking Can Increase The Risk

Doctors state that it's important to remember that many things other than smoking may raise the risk of erectile dysfunction, including stress, hypertension, alcoholism, diabetes

Erectile dysfunction, better known as impotence is inability of a man to develop or maintain a complete erection to intercourse and is treated with such medication as Viagra.

"The association between cigarette smoking and erectile dysfunction was found in earlier studies," said author Dr. Jiang He, Ph.D an epidemiologist with Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, in a news release. Study also found that former smokers among patients with high blood pressure are 11 times more affected from erectile dysfunction than non smokers.

Study revealed that Men who smoked more than 20 cigarettes in a day had a 60% greater risk of erectile dysfunction, as compared to men who never smoked. And even when cigarette smokers quit, it's not means their risk of developing or achieving ED did not reduce. The risk of erectile dysfunction or impotence was statistically about the similar for ex-cigarette smokers as for current cigarette smokers, the authors found. If the EPC was not issued by Pfizer or if the chip ID does not match records at Pfizer, the service sends a notice to quarantine the product, and to Medical Information Services employees at Pfizer who process suspected cases of counterfeit drugs.

The MIS employees then ask the druggist or wholesaler to send the suspected bottle to Pfizer for investigation.

So it's yet another strong reason to quit smoking especially for young men.
