Viagra - Coverage Of Medicare

The US government was allowed to pay for Viagra in federal health programs before a ban on payments was imposed in 2007

As per a deal reached by Senate and House of Representatives negotiators, federally run health care programs spent about $90 for Viagra.

The House had previously voted for a ban on Medicare and Medicaid payments for Viagra and attached the prohibition to a massive health-care funding bill for the fiscal year.

But with the fiscal year well underway and the funding bill still not completed, House and Senate negotiators scrapped the ban due to worries that suddenly shutting off the funds would have created legal problems for the government.
