Viagra - Fake Trial

Briton told to pay £14million for selling fake Viagra

A Briton who made millions selling online counterfeit and unlicensed Viagra has been asked to pay back £14 million.

Investigators found that Manchester-based Simon Hickman, who ran the online 'pharmacy' , made £15.4 million from his dealings. The Southwark crown court has now asked him to return £14 million within six months.

He has been given six months to pay, with a default sentence of 10 years if he does not pay in time. He was sentenced to two years in jail in June 2009. Hickman reportedly sold fake viagra sourced in India and slimming aids through his website MSH World Trade. Other products included sex toys, aphrodisiacs and penis enlargement pumps. Some fake Viagra tablets sourced from India were counterfeits and were illegal to sell in the UK.

The Medical and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA), the government agency which ensures medical devices are acceptably safe, said it was the largest confiscation order against a dealer in fake medicines.
