Fake Viagra Scam - Busted

Eleven Chinese citizens and an American man have been arrested in a counterfeit medicine scheme that spanned across 11 countries and involved millions of dollars worth of fake Viagra.

Chinese police seized 440,000 fake and unlicensed generic viagra in the eastern port city of Tianjin and two cities in central Henan province and arrested 11 men.

The American, Richard Cowley, was arrested in Washington State and has been charged with importing and distributing counterfeit fake and unlicensed generic viagra.

The seized fake and unlicensed generic viagra had a street value of $4.3 million.

In terms of the amount of arrests and seizures, this is probably one of the most significant investigations involving counterfeit fake and unlicensed generic viagra.

The scheme was run mainly by Cowley and Li Wenhui, who was arrested in Tianjin. Using the false name Wang Daijun, Li was Cowley's main supplier, mailing him the fake and unlicensed generic viagra and helping him sell them on the internet to buyers in countries such as Israel, Britain, Switzerland and the United States.
