This change in sales figures is due to the fact that fewer men are willing to use Viagra as the often televised commercials for the products have become less effective.

The combined worldwide sales of Viagra has reached about US$2.5 billion ($3.5 billion) last year but the number of new prescriptions has declined this year.

A huge number of the male population suffers from erectile dysfunction yet only about 15 per cent of them get prescriptions for the erectile dysfunction drug.

But in some cases, Viagra is used for other purposes aswell.

In recent times, the so-called recreational use of the drugs like Viagra by younger men has witnessed a dramatic increase.

The abuse and misuse of Viagra is a cause of concern as it can be immensely harmful for health.
