Viagra - Why Women Take It

Research is going on in women are that has found Viagra to be useful in treating women’s sexual dysfunctions

Research is underway at Boston University to judge whether Viagra can assist in the restoration of sexual pleasure among women.

Viagra’s manufacturer, Pfizer, Inc., is doing clinical studies in Britain.

If research looks promising, these types of tests will be expanded to include wide array of women under the tough protocols needed for FDA approval.

Effects Of Viagra On Women

Even with Pfizer’s research, it is premature to assume anything regarding the effectiveness of Viagra in women or any side effects.

The tests will not be finished for some time and it may take a couple of years before it is approved for use in women by the FDA.

Irrespective of Pfizer’s findings,Viagra will have no effect on a women’s libido; it is certainly not the much-publicized orgasm pill that some have reported.

There is little reason to believe that Viagra will have as profound an effect on women as it has had on men.

Many researchers are of the opinion that as prostate surgery and diabetes can lead to erectile dysfunction in men, issues like hysterectomy, high blood pressure and diabetes can lead to circulatory issues and sexual dysfunction in women.

The result of these problems is that women begin to have difficulty becoming aroused.

Viagra Assistance

Researchers believe Viagra can play a pivotal role in resolving female sexual dysfunction. In men, when blood vessels in the penis become engorged with blood an erection occurs; in women, when the blood vessels of the vagina become engorged with blood the vagina becomes properly lubricated for the sexual intercourse.

There is some evidence that women who have been unable to achieve orgasm may be able to climax with the assistance of Viagra. The difference between the penis and the clitoris is the minimized ability in the clitoris to develop a veno-occlusive function. In other words, the clitoris does not achieve the rigidity of the penis (which is designed to penetrate).

Note: This article appears to be unfinished as it ends with an explanation of male arousal and it is supposed to be focused on the effects of Viagra on women. There is little information about how Viagra helps women at all.
